The Euskal Herria Pensioners Movement joins the protests in the Basque capitals in solidarity with Palestine, denouncing the "genocide" perpetrated by Israeli Zionism and supporting the student camps.

In a gesture of solidarity and protest, the Euskal Herria Pensioners Movement has decided to join the demonstrations that will take place on Thursday, May 15 at 19.00:XNUMX p.m. in various Basque cities. These mobilizations seek to denounce the "genocide" of the Palestinian people, a situation that, according to pensioners, has been aggravated by the occupation of the city of Rafah. The initiative also supports camping trips organized by students on university campuses, thus showing a united front against the actions of the Israeli government.

Protests in the Basque capitals in solidarity with Palestine and denunciation of the Israeli genocide

The statement issued by the Pensioners' Movement of Euskal Herria is forceful in its condemnation. They denounce the "genocide that Israeli Zionism is carrying out against the Palestinian people" and highlight that this situation has intensified with the occupation of Rafah. They emphasize that every day more victims accumulate, many of them children and women, due to the bombings and the Israeli military occupation. They consider it unacceptable that these actions do not receive a firm and clear response from European governments, from whom they demand a forceful position to immediately stop the genocide.

The situation in Palestine, especially in the Gaza Strip, has generated a wave of indignation and international solidarity. In this context, Basque pensioners insist that "weapons must stop immediately and a space of peace and negotiation must be opened that guarantees the right to exist of the people." This statement reflects the sentiment of a community that, despite its advanced age, remains active and committed to just causes at a global level.

Details of the demonstrations and support for student camps in the Basque Country

Given the seriousness of the situation in Palestine, the Euskal Herria Pensioners Movement has decided to support the mobilizations and camps that are being organized throughout the Basque territory and in other European locations. These actions will continue on May 15, on the occasion of the commemoration of Nakba Day, at 19.00:1948 p.m. This day marks the anniversary of the XNUMX Palestinian exodus, a historic event that continues to resonate in the collective conscience of those who defend human rights and justice.

The demonstrations will start from strategic points in the main Basque cities. In Bilbao, the concentration will begin in the Plaza Elíptica; in San Sebastián, on the Boulevard; and in Vitoria-Gasteiz, in the Plaza de la Virgen Blanca. Likewise, in Pamplona, the demonstration is scheduled for May 18 at 12.30:XNUMX p.m. These protests not only seek to make the situation in Palestine visible, but also to put pressure on the European authorities to adopt concrete and effective measures.

Support for student camps is another key element of this mobilization. Students have shown admirable commitment, organizing camps on university campuses to keep attention on the crisis in Palestine. Basque pensioners, aware of the importance of intergenerational unity in the fight for human rights, have decided to support these actions, providing significant moral and logistical support.
