Unprecedented Growth

El B Accelerator Tower (BAT), conceived as the engine of entrepreneurship and innovation in the province of Bizkaia, has experienced unparalleled growth in its first year of life. With an increase of 85% in face-to-face members, the center currently houses 73 technology startups and 41 corporations.

Need for Expansion: Towards a New Phase

The frenetic activity and accumulation of talent at BAT have driven the decision to expand its presence in the Bizkaia Tower. Now with four floors occupied, five more will be added and will be operational in the fall of next year.

Balance of the First Year

During BAT's first innovation week, Elixabete Etxanobe, general deputy of Bizkaia, highlighted the success of the program in its inaugural year. The BAT community already has more than 650 people, including investment fund agents, academics and scientific-technological entities. More than 200 "connections", leading to the birth of numerous innovative projects.

International presence

BAT's global character is reflected in its ability to attract international talent and projects. To date, it has received delegations from Israel, United States, Mexico and Finland. In addition, the arrival of startups from Chile, the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Korea is expected before the end of the year.

Economic Impact in Euskadi

Estíbaliz Hernáez, Deputy Minister of Technology of the Basque Government, highlighted that BAT has been a catalyst in the transformation of economic sectors in the region. According to recent reports, Euskadi has more than a thousand startups that generate more than 8.000 jobs and whose total valuation exceeds 1.500 millones de euros.

Institutional Support: A Model of Success

Created through a public-private collaboration model, BAT has received strong institutional support. Since 2022, they have been launched 800 entrepreneurship support programs, with a total budget of 96 millones de euros.

BAT's innovation week, which began recently, focuses on key areas such as growth, technology, creativity and innovation. The speakers will share their experiences and knowledge, reaffirming BAT's role as an epicenter of transformative ideas.
