Durango has taken an important step towards the modernization of small businesses with the implementation of smart lockers, strategically located near the Market Square and the TADU public parking lot. This initiative, led by the local administration in collaboration with the Dendak Bai association, aims to modernize the interaction between companies, local merchants and residents, offering them an efficient system to collect their purchases.

How smart lockers work

The process is simple: once local businesses and citizens sign up for the service through Dendak Bai, the business creates an order that customers can pick up at the locker most convenient for them, at any time of the day, either that operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The lockers are designed to meet different needs. The drawers come in various sizes to accommodate different types of products, including some with refrigeration to keep food and drinks in optimal condition.

Benefits for local commerce

Jesica Ruiz, deputy mayor and councilor for commerce, has highlighted the importance of this project for the innovation and digitalization of public services and the local commercial fabric. Smart lockers will allow residents to collect their purchases at a time that is most convenient for them, boosting local business activity.

The project, with a total cost of €41.350 plus VAT, is designed to improve the daily lives of residents and provide a significant boost to the local economy. In addition, it facilitates access to local products in a convenient and modern way.

With this initiative, Durango is positioned as an example of innovation in the digitalization of commercial services, a model that can inspire other locations to implement similar solutions to support their small businesses.
