Homophobic aggression at Andra Mari's parties in Getxo

During the early hours of Sunday, two girls who were walking through the festival grounds in the Andra Mari neighborhood in Getxo were attacked by a young man. While they enjoyed the festivities in honor of San Isidro, A man approached and insulted them by calling them "lesbian whores." One of the girls responded to the insults, but the aggressor punched her in the right ear, causing severe pain and bursting her eardrum.

The victim immediately informed an Ertzaintza patrol that he was present at the festive police operation. The young woman was treated at the scene by an ambulance and then transferred to the local medical services to receive treatment.

The Getxo City Council had set up a purple point during the nights of Friday and Saturday, where women victims of sexist attacks could be assisted and advised. However, this incident highlights the continued need for safety and support measures during public events.

The community is shocked by the attack and local authorities are working to locate and arrest the attacker. This act of violence highlights the importance of combating homophobia and protecting all citizens during community celebrations.
