A record number of applications to vote by mail

El absentee ballot is reaching historic figures in Euskadi. The electoral call of July 23, in the middle of summer, has led to a flood of requests in the offices of mails. The latest figures available at 12:00 p.m. this Wednesday showed 198.207 applications submitted. Considering that there is still a deadline until tomorrow and that the electoral census offices are receiving a daily average of 5.000 requests, it is probable that Euskadi far exceeds 200.000 requests.

Bizkaia leads the request for votes by mail

In Álava, 28.404 applications have been registered, representing 11,3% of the census. In Gipuzkoa, 52.162 voters have chosen to vote by mail, that is, 9,4% of the census. Although it is the Basque territory with the lowest percentage, it is almost three points higher than the state average of 6,7%.
