The need for a joint agreement

Erne, Esan, Euspel and Sipe, the majority unions in the Ertzaintza, have decided to resume union unity, two days after a demonstration in Bilbao in which around 2.000 ertzainas demanded a new labor agreement.

The four unions represented at the labor conditions negotiation table have agreed that it will be "indispensable" their four signatures in case of reaching a future agreement with the Department of Security of the Basque Government. ELA, with 5% of the representation in the Ertzaintza, is not at the negotiating table.

Objective: improve working conditions

The main objective of the unions is "Improve the working conditions of the Ertzaintza". For this reason, they have requested the cancellation of the "table 125" negotiation of the Ertzaintza, scheduled for next May 17, arguing "lack of content." Likewise, they have summoned the Department of Security to initiate "a negotiation with real content" that responds to the needs of the ertzainas.

The agents who demonstrated in Bilbao, summoned by the collective "Ertzainas in fight", apart from the unions, carried a banner with the motto: «Without a decent regulatory agreement there is no Tour. 12 years without agreement. Ertzainas in fight».

Widespread discontent among agents
