Idoia Mendia Minister of Labor and Employment of the Basque Government is committed to an age management plan to help small and medium-sized companies

Idoia Mendia, Vicelehendakari and Minister of Labor and Employment of the Basque Government, has defended the importance of focusing on promoting the hiring of workers who are celebrating their birthdays and have a lot to offer companies. Social Dialogue Table: an agreement to promote the hiring of older workers

The Vicelehendakari has stated that instead of falling into triumphalism, it is necessary to deal with those who are doing less well in the labor market. In this sense, the Social Dialogue Table has agreed to create a specific program for older workers They still have a lot to contribute to companies.

This program seeks to connect the opportunities and needs of workers and companies, integrating into a age management plan. The objective is that, especially small and medium-sized companies, they can effectively manage people and take advantage of their experience.

The Basque Employment Strategy 2030 and the Legislature's Strategic Plan

Mendia recalled that this challenge was agreed upon in the Basque Parliament in the Basque Employment Strategy 2030 and it is included in the Strategic Plan of the legislature. The Vicelehendakari has emphasized that this is not just another recruitment programme, but about giving one more step towards a social and business culture that values the wealth of experience of older workers.

Support for women and youth in employment

In addition to the program aimed at older workers, the Vicelehendakari has highlighted the efforts of the Basque Government to tackling the inequality of women and the difficulties of young people in the Laboral scene. The intention is to work together with social agents and other programs to create a more equitable and inclusive work environment in the Basque Country.
