A weekend full of flavors, music and culture awaits you in Gorliz with the Dastatuarte Food & Art

On the first weekend of July, the streets of Gorliz will come alive with 50 different activities within the framework of Dastatuarte Food & Art. This gastronomic and cultural festival, which celebrates its fifth edition, has become an emblematic event in the municipality.

During the 5th, 6th and 7th of July, the inhabitants and visitors of Gorliz will be able to enjoy a wide range of activities which include pintxos, food trucks, crafts, workshops, theater and live music. All of this spread across five areas of the town: Church Square, San Pedro Square, Ibarreta Square, Ondargana Kampan and Sertutxena. In addition, local taverns will participate in the traditional pintxos competition, a competition that promises to be as close as ever.

Pintxos and gastronomy at popular prices

The pintxos, created specifically for the festival, will be sold at 1,20 Euros. Attendees will be able to vote for their favorite using voting cards that will be handed out at participating taverns. Gorka Corral, from New Taberne, remembers that last year they prepared 1.500 pintxos and this year they hope to reach 2.000. “Every year more people come, and the atmosphere is incredible,” she says.

This year, the Dastatuarte will also have a solidarity purpose. On July 7, at 14:00 p.m., a solidarity paella will be held to benefit Autismo Euskadi. Funds raised will go towards improving the quality of life for people with autism and their families.

Additionally, during the three days of the festival, there will be 40 craft stalls on Itsasbide street, performances by the group El Improviso, a magic and illusion show with Santi Marcilla, concerts and plays. On Sunday, gastronomy will be the protagonist with a session directed by Elena Urigüen, offering innovative culinary experiences.

Additional exhibits and activities

Two exhibitions will be exhibited in Sertutxena: one with the works of the students of the ceramics and modeling course at the House of Culture, and another with the cardboard and paper models made by the Primary students of the Gorliz school. In the fronton, you can see the work of the Early Childhood Education children under the title "Denok desberdinak eskubide berdinak."

Some program activities require prior registration at the Gorliz tourist office, located at Eloisa Artaza 1. You can also call 946 774 348 or send an email to info@visitgorliz.eus. The office is open every day from 10:00 to 15:00 and from 16:00 to 19:00. All information is available on the Dastatuarte website.
