The city of Bilbao is decked out once again to host the second edition of the Bilbao Blues Festival, an event that brings together some of the most prominent names on the international blues scene and that this year adds an exceptional line-up.

A parade of international stars

The city of Bilbao will be the scene of a veritable parade of international blues stars. He The Original Blues Brothers Band, successor to the band formed by actors Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi in 1978, joins this year's lineup, bringing their infectious blues and soul sound to Bilbao's stages.

This mythical group, despite the changes of members over time, continues to set the stages on fire with its traditional sound. "Blue" saxophonist Lou Marini, an early member, remains a part of the band.

A diverse and enriching poster

Among the prominent names of this edition are the singer and actress Shakura S'Aida, the vocalist Tia Carroll, the orchestra led by the guitarist Anthony Paule, the female sextet Indigo Blues, the musician Vashti Jackson and the up-and-coming singer Ghalia Volt.

All of them will join those already confirmed, led by singer and harmonica player Rick Estrin and his band The Nightcats, who will be honored during the event for their long and successful musical career.

A blues festival enriched by local culture

The Bilbao Blues Festival is much more than a series of concerts. This year, the program includes the musical theater play "Blues & Roots", which will be performed on July 27, with the actress Silvia Marsó and the Del Toro Blues Band.

The recognized Museo Guggenheim Bilbao will offer free educational concerts for children, as part of its TopARTE program.

The party invades the streets

Not everything will be indoors, music will invade the streets of Bilbao. The Dixie Band "Rogues at full speed" will tour the Old Town in a New Orleans-style parade, taking the party to the most emblematic corners of the city.

In addition, citizens will be able to participate in free boogie woogie classes at the Arenal kiosk, becoming protagonists of this great musical event.
