Barakaldo CF has consolidated its position as second in its group, strengthening its chances for the play-offs for promotion to the First Federation, thanks to a crucial victory against Valle de Egües and a draw from its closest pursuer, UD Logroñés, against Real Sociedad C.

In an exciting match, Barakaldo achieved a 1-3 win away from home this past Saturday, a result that not only secured the three points but also prevented league leaders Bilbao Athletic from celebrating their mathematical promotion to the First Federation. Although the red and white reserve team maintains an eight-point advantage over Barakaldo, and only needs a draw in the next three rounds to be crowned champion, the fight for leadership continues to be a technical rather than a real incentive.

Barakaldo's attention focused on Sunday's match between UD Logroñés, their immediate pursuer, who faced Real Sociedad C. The goalless draw between these teams was a relief for the Gualdinegros, who now enjoy a comfortable margin of five points over third place, with only nine points up for grabs until the end of the season.

Looking ahead, Barakaldo's schedule includes clashes against Deportivo Alavés B, Deportivo Aragón and Mutilvera. Maintaining second position would not only guarantee a prime spot in the promotion play-off, but would also cement a successful season with potential significant strategic and financial benefits for the club.

Thus, with the league in its final stretch, Barakaldo is preparing to ensure a close to the season that could be historic, as long as they maintain the level demonstrated so far.
