Obradoiro escapes relegation with a key victory against Bilbao Basket (72-75)

Obradoiro achieves a crucial victory in its fight to remain in the ACB League, beating Bilbao Basket in a closely contested match

Obradoiro sweated to achieve their eighth victory of the season, but finally won a match in Bilbao that could be decisive for their permanence in the ACB (72-75).

The match started well for Obradoiro, with their centers Pustovyi and Blazevic leading the way, allowing them to gain an 11-19 lead after a 2-10 run. However, Bilbao balanced the match at the end of the first quarter (18-19) and took the lead thanks to the effectiveness of Pantzar (38-28), reaching a maximum advantage of ten points for the locals. In this swing, Obradoiro reacted and at halftime they were only two points down (40-38).

The balance was maintained during the third quarter, with neither team being able to separate themselves beyond four points (59-60 at the end of the quarter). Everything was left pending for a final quarter in which there was little offensive success. Bilbao took the lead (68-64), but Obradoiro managed to tie (70-70) and, with one minute left, a steal by Scrubb allowed them to go three points ahead (70-73). In the exchange of free throws, Moncho Fernández's men resisted and took the victory that took them out of the relegation zone.
