The race will begin in Vitoria-Gasteiz, marking this as a return to the roots of the competition that in its first edition, in 2022, also started from the capital of Alava. The first stage will link Vitoria-Gasteiz with Elgoibar, introducing Elgoibar for the first time in the Itzulia itinerary. This segment promises to be a mix of technical demand and scenic beauty, linking Araba with Gipuzkoa.

The second stage will take place in Basauri, where the Biscayan town will not only be the starting point but also the finish line. This closed circuit guarantees that the excitement is maintained from the beginning to the end of the stage, also coinciding with festive days in the city, which ensures a vibrant atmosphere for competitors and spectators.

Finally, Donostia will be the scene of the closing of the Itzulia Women for the third consecutive year, consolidating itself as a key point in the race. The capital of Gipuzkoa will witness the definition of the podium in a stage that is expected to be decisive and exciting, maintaining the tradition of grand finals in this city.

Expectations and preparations for a world-class event

The Itzulia Women organization has confirmed that the specific details of the route will be officially announced next Tuesday at the Araba Provincial Council. This event will have the presence of prominent figures such as Ramiro González, deputy general of the territory; Maider Etxebarria, mayor of Vitoria-Gasteiz; and Alaitz Biritxinaga, director of Itzulia Women.

The Itzulia Women is not only a platform for the exhibition of talent in women's cycling but also an opportunity to promote equality in this sport. The continued support of sponsors and the dedication of local communities are fundamental to the success of this race, which gains more international prestige each year.

Marlen Reusser: From champion to defending champion

The Swiss Marlen Reusser, champion of the last edition, will return to defend her title. In 2023, Reusser stood out in the final stages, especially in Donostia, where her strategy allowed her to overtake Demi Vollering, her teammate and her leader until that point. The competition between these two titans of cycling will undoubtedly be one of the main attractions of the race.

The Itzulia Women is establishing itself as an essential event on the women's WorldTour calendar, not only because of the quality of its participants but also because of the challenge that its routes pose. This event not only stands out for its high-level competition, but also for being a vehicle for the visibility and progress of women's cycling globally.
